Éva Bajnóczi graduated from the University of Szeged in 2011 as a chemist (M.Sc.). She defended her PhD at the Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry of University of Szeged in the field of the solution chemistry of tin(II), lead(II) and chromium(III) in strongly alkaline solutions with UV-vis and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) in focus as main experimental methods. She received a research assistant positoin at the Wigner Research Centre for Physics (WRCP) in the same year in the Femtosecond Spectroscopy and X-ray Spectroscopy Group lead by György Vankó. Between 2017 and 2019, she spent 2.5 years at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Uppsala, Sweden) as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Ingmar Persson where she focused mainly on XAS and large angle X-ray scattering study of concentrated metal halide aqueous solutions and in situ and in operando XAS of transition metal catalysts. She returned to the WRCP in 2019 with a postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Hungarian National Research, Development and Innovation Office. Her research focuses on the correlations of structure and charge-transfer excited state electronic properties in functional Fe(II) polypyridine complexes mainly via XAS and spectroelectrochemistry.
